Last few days ka zindagi

Finally have some time on my hands to write a more updated post on what I’ve been doing off late. Nothing much really.. Work has taken up much of my time and I’ve finally stopped using the messenger clients at work to be more productive.

Yesterday was Ashura and I was on leave from work to be at the mosque. This year was (again) so different from all the Ashuras in Bangalore. I am used to waking up by 8 and spending the whole damn day in the cramped mosque sitting on my knees till your feet go numb. This year however was a breeze. Went to the mosque by 12:30… Listened to the sermon for like half hour, prayed. Returned back home… Slept and then went to the mosque again by 4:30. How awesome is that? I was comfortably seated too. Thank God there are many bori mosques in Bombay. Then in the night I went out with the cousins to have water from the 7 sabeels… some kinda ritual that I didn’t know existed when I was in Bangalore.

Work has been grinding – killing to be exact. There is just so much to do that things are never finished on time. It’s like a constant struggle between what is left to do and what you are currently doing. I hope to get over this dogma soon. Apart from that, everything is going well.

Had also given my bike for servicing yesterday, it’s come out new – with a bill of exactly 420 to boot. Ironic isn’t it? Riding the newly serviced bike feels strange. Like you are out on a first date and don’t know what to expect. You are uptight, careful and don’t want to make a stupid mistake. I felt that way when coming from my cousin’s house to work (31Km of fast highway riding).

Deadline for an article has come and gone and I want to finish it today but I don’t think it will be done today also. Let’s hope for the best. I hate articles in which I have to contact people and get their opinion on so and so subject. It’s worse when they don’t keep to your deadline and keep saying they will send it soon… sigh.

On other fronts, this weekend promises so much. I hope I don’t have to come in tomorrow. I want to watch so many movies. There is ‘My Name is Anthony Gonsalves’ and ‘Halla Bol’. There is also Wimbledon and the new TV series I downloaded called Wired. Hope to watch it all soon. I want to watch House too. It’s been so long that I almost don’t remember the storyline anymore. Damn Avatar and Heroes stopped broadcasting too!

I have become a complete twitter convert, so much so that I have started getting my news updates from the site! I subscribed to the Indo-Aussie test match and enabled notifications for it. I now get every update sms’d on my phone for free! AWESOME.

Nothing else to add. There is something that am doing and Monday will be an important day. Let’s see… Can’t write about it here till it’s done 🙂

Found this the other day… Gmail thinks I need help with spam 🙂

Oh and I found this funny too, this is from my Facebook profile, under status:

One more entry to the list

A lot has happened over the last few days. I’ve been banned (yes BANNED, would you believe that!)from chatting at work. They – some how – figured out I spent way too much time at work on the messenger clients. So I am now banned from being on the messengers. Its just a question of signing into offline mode I guess :p As they say, you can take a horse to Vegas but not expect him to dance like you (yes I know, I changed the age old proverb… sheesh).

On the thicker side of things, life’s being going normal, I’ve been growing a beard since the last week, Fatty Money (thats my version of Mathew Mammen) is STILL desperately trying to get a girlfriend and he has just released a top 85 (am glad it didnt extend to 100) reasons list on what he wants in a girl which am sure every self respecting babe will read and decide to stay far away from him. Am still kicking ass with work but (even though i hate to admit it) I think I am being ripped off here.

Tomorrow is the 10th day of Moharram so I gotta be in the mosque the whole day… wish me luck guys. I really don’t know how I will get through this, but lets hope for the best. Have take a leave from work so everything will be OK. I was super efficient today, making sue that I finished quite a lot of work so that I didn’t have to do a lot of it on Friday. Turns out I’ll have to someone else’s work to which kinda sucks but then I am a ‘team player’. I love these rubbish management words! Even though everyone knows you are lying through the skin of your teeth, they are still impressed when you say such stuff – morAns.

I’ve rediscovered twitter. Truly. Oh what joy it is, its like the beginning of the good old IM days, and this time when someone IM’s you, you get it on your phone! Just brilliant.

Its late at night now and I gotta be up early tomorrow. Chow people.
