Last few days ka zindagi

Finally have some time on my hands to write a more updated post on what I’ve been doing off late. Nothing much really.. Work has taken up much of my time and I’ve finally stopped using the messenger clients at work to be more productive.

Yesterday was Ashura and I was on leave from work to be at the mosque. This year was (again) so different from all the Ashuras in Bangalore. I am used to waking up by 8 and spending the whole damn day in the cramped mosque sitting on my knees till your feet go numb. This year however was a breeze. Went to the mosque by 12:30… Listened to the sermon for like half hour, prayed. Returned back home… Slept and then went to the mosque again by 4:30. How awesome is that? I was comfortably seated too. Thank God there are many bori mosques in Bombay. Then in the night I went out with the cousins to have water from the 7 sabeels… some kinda ritual that I didn’t know existed when I was in Bangalore.

Work has been grinding – killing to be exact. There is just so much to do that things are never finished on time. It’s like a constant struggle between what is left to do and what you are currently doing. I hope to get over this dogma soon. Apart from that, everything is going well.

Had also given my bike for servicing yesterday, it’s come out new – with a bill of exactly 420 to boot. Ironic isn’t it? Riding the newly serviced bike feels strange. Like you are out on a first date and don’t know what to expect. You are uptight, careful and don’t want to make a stupid mistake. I felt that way when coming from my cousin’s house to work (31Km of fast highway riding).

Deadline for an article has come and gone and I want to finish it today but I don’t think it will be done today also. Let’s hope for the best. I hate articles in which I have to contact people and get their opinion on so and so subject. It’s worse when they don’t keep to your deadline and keep saying they will send it soon… sigh.

On other fronts, this weekend promises so much. I hope I don’t have to come in tomorrow. I want to watch so many movies. There is ‘My Name is Anthony Gonsalves’ and ‘Halla Bol’. There is also Wimbledon and the new TV series I downloaded called Wired. Hope to watch it all soon. I want to watch House too. It’s been so long that I almost don’t remember the storyline anymore. Damn Avatar and Heroes stopped broadcasting too!

I have become a complete twitter convert, so much so that I have started getting my news updates from the site! I subscribed to the Indo-Aussie test match and enabled notifications for it. I now get every update sms’d on my phone for free! AWESOME.

Nothing else to add. There is something that am doing and Monday will be an important day. Let’s see… Can’t write about it here till it’s done 🙂

Found this the other day… Gmail thinks I need help with spam 🙂

Oh and I found this funny too, this is from my Facebook profile, under status:

Weekly Roundup

Here’s a brief roundup on my activities:

Went to the Bike and Car Expo at BKC on Sunday with friends. It was fun to see all the pimped out cars and bikes there! Some of the dream cars like the Rolls Royce and BMW were also there; however, what stole the show for me was the Lamborghini Diablo SV. I seem to have a kinky fetish for the car right since my NFS 4 (Need for Speed) days 🙂 You can find all the snaps on my Picasa Web space.

Have gotten a ton of movies and quite a few TED documentaries (woot!) to watch so am covered on the boredom front this week. Today is my aunt’s birthday, so that warrants a family reunion. Going there in the evening after work. Will post details about it tomorrow.

What’s really got my kicking though is that Shruti is finally in town! And am meeting her (and hopefully Ku) tomorrow for dinner 🙂 It’s been a long time coming. Last when we met, we were walking down MG Road trying to piss Sru off!! Spoke to her yesterday and I have to agree with fatty, her PJ’s STILL suck.

I was reading the feeds in Google Reader and what I really hate about doing so in Opera is that when you have feeds with videos in them, the whole syntaxing crashes and the videos accumulate at the top of the window. Don’t know how to explain it, so just check the screeny below to see what I mean:

I hope Opera fix this long standing bug soon!

Gotta start getting software for the Jan CD/DVD, so am all ready to get my tin-foil hat on.
